I booked our mileage tickets for the flight over to Zimbabwe in March of 2015. I snagged 2 Business class seats on Emirates flying ANC - SEA - DXB - HRE. The DXB to HRE leg has a quick stop in Lusaka, Zambia.
I originally booked this two country (Zimbabwe and Mozambique) hunt over 18 months ago. Actually the Mozambique hunt I booked in 2012 before Joyce's cancer diagnosis and had it delayed a year.
The planning, anticipation, researching, and then implementation (such as the ticket purchase) are as much fun for me as the actual hunt.....almost!!
When I book the return I will try and do a 3 or 4 day stop over in Dubai for sightseeing.
All and all a great trip to kickstart our first year of retirement.
