  • 1905 Lawn & Alder 450/400 NE Double Rifle - Gun Porn

I did it again!! Bought this one for Joyce though. Of course I may be forced to shoot it. The 450/400 Nitro Express fires a 400 grain bullet at 2150 FPS. Potent enough for Elephant it is an excellent round for Cape Buffalo in an almost enjoyable recoil category compared to the 450 or 470 NE. I stole this gun at about $7-8,000 less than its value. Dumb luck timing!!

Here's the description, then porn to follow.

    Description:

An exceptional Lawn & Alder double rifle trade gun chambered for the .450/.400 3.25” NE cartridge. Owned by Shawn Joyce of Diizche Safari Adventures. Shoots well with 400 grain KYNOCH .450/.400 3.25” NE ammunition, 28 1/4” chopper-lump (Demi-bloc) barrels, double underlugs (lumps), doll’s head extension, splinter forend with Anson forend release, LOP approximately 14 3/4”, extractors, non-auto safe, bolstered frame is unmistakably Charles Osborne, Nitro proved at 60 Cordite and 400 grain bullet with London stamps, bushed strikers, extensive scroll engraving, gold SAFE, tuned triggers approximately 3 ¾ lbs. (has never doubled), engraved steel grip cap, weight 10.6 lbs., standing quarter rib, upraised muzzle block for front sight, bead front sight with large custom flip-up white bead, beautiful stock with dropper points (teardrops), checkering near receiver by dropper points as was typically done as an option by Westley Richards, pancake cheekpiece with beaded edge, vacant stock oval, aftermarket Pachmayr recoil pad. Metal condition very good with some wear around muzzle, wood very good; bores good showing some lite frosting from Cordite powder. Tough choice. It was either this or a new vacuum.

Rifle is finally getting shipped supposedly Monday. Lucked out and had a friend at a gun show in the lower 48 and he's bringing back two boxes of Kynoch Ammo for it so I can test drive it during the inspection period. Bad news is Joyce has already been referring to it as "her gun". WTF!! She should know this is way too big for her.

That's your fault for letting her put shoes on after you got married.

I'm pretty sure that's female code for "get her a new brace that extends over her right shoulder."

                  Just sayin'.

She's hoping that next week the term "brace" will be removed her her vocabulary. So do I. If I hear another "rip" of velcro between 2200 and 0600 I'm going to explode.

                      Understandable.

Hopefully, in the next few weeks, all of this will be licked and you (pl.) can just put all this shit behind you and go have a life again.

Fed Ex tracking has the beauty arriving tomorrow. On a lighter note, Joyce enjoyed her first shower without a brace in over three months. Time flies when you're having fun. It's amazing how this simple pleasure made her day.

Any rifle showing up in a case like this must be badass.

                          And it is…

                          Nice fine scroll work….

Took it for a test drive as part of the final inspection. We own it now!!

It's only 6 rounds but it did exactly what you want a double rifle to do. It grouped shots from the right barrel to the right of the bull and shots from the left barrel to the left of the bull.
