Are you celebrating St Patrick's Day? Of course you are. You're only human.

But whether you're drinking, parading, drinking, partying or drinking, be sure to follow our 10 top tips...

    1. DO get your supply of Guinness in early
My major celebration will involve brisket on sale and avoiding the parade in Denver tomorrow as I go down for the all important Metaphysical Celebration.

    What about you?

St. Pat's day, along with Cinco De Mayo, New Years Eve, Madi Gras etc are amateur drunk celebrations.

    I am a professional drunk.
I don't mingle with the amateurs.

A scavenger hunt on the chain (14 lakes connected by canals). It's going to be a large time.

We have the whole Irish dinner with the family and then watch either the Secret of Roan Inish or Darby O'Gill and the Little People. Usually the latter as the grandkids like to get scared over the banshee.
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

PS And we get to see a young, handsome Sean Connery.

I'm just baffled by whole thing now. I remember when it was mostly green beer and "Irish" food in bars but not much in the way of power drinking. Somehow over the past 10 years or so it's become a bacchanal. No, thanks.

Two years ago I was going to this same event but I thought I'd be "responsible" and drive to a park-and-ride in Denver and take a bus to the actual location.

            Never Again.

you forgot green scrambled eggs.. a staple in Stl.. for some reason it's a reason to get drunk at breakfast at the corner bar, which are really on almost every corner in older Stl City....

Thankfully, I haven't run into green eggs. I remember green mashed potatoes in college.

                It made me day-drink Kahlua.
