  • The "Southernmost Point" buoy in Key West is actually not the southernmost point.

Having some fun on Spring Break (code for "take the kids to a new place to fight") and we visited one of the famous landmarks, the "Southernmost Point in the Continental United States."

But as it turns out it's not even close to that actual spot.

Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.

Oh well, I took a picture anyway.

Heh! Yeah, we noticed that years ago. Still, a fun place to watch the sun set, and it's kinda cool looking out across the Gulf at night to see the glow of the lights of Havana.

Watch out for the pickpockets on Duval Street!
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now
