I was doing a google search on Ft Leonard and found a pdf that put some pieces of a puzzle together.
I was there for Basic Training starting on Feb 18, 1970.
When we were finally installed in our barracks, we were required to use our shelter half to construct a 'sneeze shield' at the head of our bunk.
It was mid Feb. in Mo and all windows were required to be open at all times.
Apparently, the armed forces, and especially the Army were experiencing an outbreak of meningitis... the pdf did not specify which type...
Ft Leonard Wood, according to the pdf was a designated as a 'test'.
So, twice, in my lifetime, the Fed Gov had designated me as a test agent.
In the very early 50's in the Salk experiment and in '70 in the 'how can we deal with this meningitis shit in '70
So could the Fed Gov buy me a cup of coffee?
Just once?
