  • Jason and the (Nashville) Scorchers

Because I feel like it, that's why. And I'm in a bit of a punkabilly mood today.

That, and I somehow remembered today that Perry Baggs died over a year ago.

It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

I saw them a few times back in the day.
Colonel Vogel : What does the diary tell you that it doesn't tell us?

Professor Henry Jones : It tells me, that goose-stepping morons like yourself should try *reading* books instead of *burning* them!

I haven't gone to a Jason show in a while. He still comes and plays the Cannery or some such relatively small venue on occasion here. I don't think it will ever really be the same with Perry gone, though. How can "Both Sides of the Line" possibly sound as good without Perry just laying that killer, crazy drum line?

I was very fortunate in that I hung around Nashville during the mid-80's when the alternative scene there at the Cannery and Exit/In was at its peak.
