  • Novels and States

Something I read earlier triggered it.

Attach a novel to the state. The most famous or the best or whatever.

    I'll start.

Alabama ~ Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe (because To Kill a Mockingbird is too obvious)
Colonel Vogel : What does the diary tell you that it doesn't tell us?

Professor Henry Jones : It tells me, that goose-stepping morons like yourself should try *reading* books instead of *burning* them!

Alaska ~ White Fang (because I suspect The Call of the Wild is more of a Canadian thing)
Colonel Vogel : What does the diary tell you that it doesn't tell us?

Professor Henry Jones : It tells me, that goose-stepping morons like yourself should try *reading* books instead of *burning* them!

Could we micromanage this idea to regions within a State?

      Otherwise

      Alaska - "Alaska" - Michner
      If it pays, it stays

If you like. It's just a game.

Arizona ~ The Andromeda Strain (because I never really got into Zane Grey novels)

It's not so much a rule as courtesy to those among us with OCD issues.

                    Arkansas...hmmm...I give up.
"Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

That's reaching. As if Arkansas would allow something like the Emerald city to exist.

A city with a conman behind glittery curtains where girls are prettified....come on Celeste...the reference is obvious!

Arkansas ~ I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (because The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn really only spends a short time there)
