Anybody else watching this season? Yeah, they keep throwing in some politics. Last season was the anti-Catholic bent. This season, racism. But still an interesting story. While the writers go to the cliche bin a bit much, it still is a bit innovative. I like it.

We're watching this season. We did the first year but were unsatisfied by the ending. We started last year but abandoned it when every episode was mackerel-snapping. We aren't Catholic but it was so abusive, we couldn't watch in good conscience. This is pretty good but the racial stuff is tiring.

Jessica Lange is not just another pretty face - she's acting the pants off everybody in that show! Love the Kathy Bates character!

I am so rooting for the swamp witch - she's the only sane one. I could have completely lived without the Evangelical-Christian-Neighbor-as-Totally-Perverted-and-Evil thing. Really? Couldn't we have a totally perverted and abusive Jew, Muslim, or pagan? Anything different?

If they don't continue this storyline next season, they will probably lose me again.

Yeah, if they would stay away from the politically correct stereotypes they'd do far better.

Jessica Lange is absolutely amazing. You're right, besides still being a stunner, she's a great actress...although she's basically playing the same character in all of the seasons.

They won't continue this storyline, as the premise is a new storyline each season. It's tough, but I can see where the storyline could get tired after a few seasons. Plus, this way, they can still kill people off and have them come back. I love that they are still using a lot of the same actors each season despite the fact that they are different characters.

Unless they can come up with a scenario this good, I'll be gone again. The first season just wasn't that good apart from Lange's character. I literally wanted the husband, wife, daughter, and disabled kid to die. I still want the disabled kid to die (go ahead - hate me). She's just not interesting to me, ditto for the enormous black woman. She's moving the plot along obviously but she's inherently uninteresting to me. If she used her power more often, that might change or might not. She's written as a dull, foul-mouthed, inner city black (stereotyped) so she can die.

I think they've gone too far this season. I understand that Kathy Bate's character is a monster, but so is Marie. I can't feel sorry for her or her allies when people go after them. She's just as racist and evil. I think they're wanting us to root for Marie because she's the black woman, but she put blood on her face like Kathy Bate's character did. That's gross. I really hope they kill her. I know Kathy Bate's character will die, but I really want to see Marie die too.

I did enjoy watching Fiona and Spaulding whine about being murdered after all the crap they did. lol.

Really? You were "okay" with last season? I didn't watch it for religious reasons. This is entertaining about 90% of the time. It's still not wholesome but I'm admitted sinner.

I sort of liked the whole asylum theme. I also liked making guesses at who the serial killer was. When the good, calm doctor got Lana out of the asylum, I knew then it was him.

I also liked how after the nun (who was good, but she was possessed, not her fault) died and the doctor went into the crematory with her (a strange irony in light of his Nazi background).

Oddly enough, I though the story got too depressing after it was taken over by the state. Most of the main villains were gone, and they turned Lana (one of the main heroines) into this cold, hard bitch. I think a lot more could have been done with the story of Kit and his two wives/kids, but the writers ran out of time and just gave them a crappy ending. I really wanted to see Sister Jude confront the Cardinal (Timothy). It was like so much more could have been written, but they blew everything up to end the story.

I didn't see it so much as anti-Catholic, but maybe I should have. I actually cracked jokes when Sister Jude made a big deal about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer being played.

There's a lot of mystery/beauty to the Catholic church and writers love to expand on it. Have you noticed that there are hardly any Protestants on TV shows? It's silly.

But this year is oddly enough the year I think they're going too far. I've watched stories about witches before. However, in this story, they present a white woman who once killed a baby and used its blood to put on her face. So, a black woman cuts her up and uses her blood on her face. That's some dark stuff. I think the writers want us to root for the black girl when they're really all pretty evil.

Oh, and I'm not used to watching stories about orgies. I hate the whole concept. I think Britney Spear's most disgusting song was "3." I hated it. It's disgusting.

I suppose you all do have a point about the bad stereotypes of Catholics and Protestant fundamentalist though. Between that boy's mother and Sister Jude of the two seasons.....

Which makes me wonder something. Most entertainment in Hollywood is liberal slanted. What would conservative slanted work look like? I don't think it would all look like Fireproof or Left Behind.

Is there any gratuitous nudity in this?

If not, I will continue to avoid it.

It's mostly of a boy Frankenstein character so not too appealing for anyone, I would think.
