  • Charlie Sheen has an unexpected bout of rationality

    Apparently not shouted from a rooftop:

    Mr. President

    ENOUGH!!!

    Stop wining and dining
    Hollywood
    long enough to
    STOP the random
    thrill kill
    SCHOOL SHOOTINGS!!

    I’m launching an
    emergency campaign
    for a Fed funded
    mandate to
    place
    ‘armed protection’
    in and around
    EVERY campus
    EVERY pre school
    EVERY High school
    EVERY ‘anywhere’
    our children are seeking
    an education yet
    sadly remain
    unprotected from this
    unconscionable and
    devastating insanity!

    Put all of your returning
    soldiers to work!!
    they ALREADY
    have a skill set
    in place that this job
    requires!

    Obama Care????
    Obviously
    YOU DO NOT!

    I’ll see you on
    Cap Hill.

    As poetry, it sucks, just like pretty much all poetry in the last 300 years or so, but it's surprisingly rational for Sheen.
    It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
    In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
    Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
    Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

    The three most obnoxious features of Lock-Up:

    Prison Poetry (spoken word, rap, etc…)

    Prison Music

    Women's Prison
    The year's at the spring
    And day's at the morn;
    Morning's at seven;
    The hill-side's dew-pearled;
    The lark's on the wing;
    The snail's on the thorn:
    God's in his heaven—
    All's right with the world!

      I could pretty much say the same about my sophomore high school American lit class. Before Thanksgiving that year, I was ready to resurrect Emily Dickinson just so that I could kill her again, and then nuke Amherst right off the map.

      Vogons write better poetry than she did.

        I liked Emily Dickinson. Of course, I was kind of in my own "dark period" then.

          Too bad he didn't work "tiger blood" in there somewhere.
