    Just visited "my account". There's a little * there you can click on and you find this…

    Social Security is a compact between generations.

    Since 1935, America has kept the promise of security for its workers and their families. Now, however, the Social Security system is facing serious financial problems, and action is needed soon to make sure the system will be sound when today's younger workers are ready for retirement.

    Without changes, in 2033 the Social Security Trust Fund will be able to pay only about 77 cents for each dollar of scheduled benefits.

    * We need to resolve these issues soon to make sure Social Security continues to provide a foundation of protection for future generations.

    *These estimates are based on the intermediate assumptions from the Social Security Trustees' Annual Report to the Congress.
    If it pays, it stays

    Man, it's impossible to get away from government nagging, isn't it?
    "Alexa, slaughter the fatted calf."

      This is just a ploy to convince us that we need to give amnesty to the 11 million illegals and their children and grandchildren (80 million people total)
      The year's at the spring
      And day's at the morn;
      Morning's at seven;
      The hill-side's dew-pearled;
      The lark's on the wing;
      The snail's on the thorn:
      God's in his heaven—
      All's right with the world!

        Well, that's a truckload of happy horseshit, but I guess they take solace in the notion that they figure you aren't going to make it another 19 years, or that you won't care by then.
        It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
        In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
        Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
        Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

          I don't know that anyone is still making that ridiculous argument, but I suppose some are.

          The irony is that the people who argue for this fail to recognize (or else intentionally ignore) the fact that those illegals who are paying into So-So Security without (presently) hope of collecting from it are a not small part of keeping it afloat. Once they're "legal," they'll be sucking off that teat and draining it even more.
