I'm curious, what would your response or actions be if this is what you woke up to on your Facebook page?

"You're dead MOTHER FUCKER! You're DEAD I guarantee you this!! Do you know what Hitler did to the Jews? I'm going to do the same to YOU and YOUR FAMILY! I PROMISE YOU THIS!"

I think I'd notify Facebook management first. If you know the person that posted it and have any reason to take it seriously, send a screen capture to their local law enforcement.
    Enjoy.

Probably snicker. I've never actually had a person pop out of my modem.

Of course, context matters. If the guy lives three doors down from you and has "SS" tattooed on his neck, there might be cause for concern. If it's some pimple-faced seventeen-year-old from Evansville, Indiana, then I rather doubt he's going to be able to fly 3750 miles with a can of Zyklon-B in his carry-on and that's probably no cause for concern. If it's Justin Bieber, then you must cross yourself, spit thrice, and then by God, share it with the rest of us so that we all can have a good laugh.
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

Defriend, block, report, and look into how to report them to the police. Screenshot.

I would call my friend up and tell them that their facebook account had been hacked.
Colonel Vogel : What does the diary tell you that it doesn't tell us?

Professor Henry Jones : It tells me, that goose-stepping morons like yourself should try *reading* books instead of *burning* them!

I'd invite him up to the cabin for a beer.

If I actually used my FB account, I doubt I would see the message for several weeks so I guess I'd just block the guy and have breakfast.

The message was on a friends FB page this morning. It's a public page though so anyone can post on it. He's a hunting outfitter and guide. He gets death threats 2-3 times a week but it has amped up in the last week with this one threatening his family because he is friends with and has openly supported Corey Knowlton, the high bidder for the black Rhino hunt auctioned at Dallas Safari Club.

It's one thing to expect some verbal abuse from anti-hunting "animal rights" people but when it gets to this level I think it is nothing more than Terrorism. Corey has hired armed escorts for his wife and children at the suggestion of the FBI after they have started to "look into" the level of threats he has received.

People are nuts and you have to take this sort of thing seriously, even though it's probably some weenie who would cower if you called him on his shit face-to-face.

Several years ago, a high school friend and I decided to join Classmates to see if any of the rest of our crew was on there. Our high school's page was heavily dominated by members of the classes of '64 to '66, people about 5 to 8 years older than we were. As soon as we arrived on the bulletin board, it was obvious this crowd thought it was their board. OK, who cares? It's not real space, right? So this was a bunch of people who went to the school just before the state started getting somewhat serious about desegregation. And they made it clear that they thought "forced integration" had ruined both our school and the old neighborhood. We had the unmitigated gall to disagree, and also committed the cardinal sin of calling them on their anti-gay crap as well. The thing was, a lot of them had retired to points south, including Zephyrhills and Jupiter (Florida), both a not tremendous distance from where I lived. In Florida, all you need to find out what real property a person owns is the person's name and general location. County property records are public.

So one day I really pissed off one of these guys, whose politics consisted largely of "I'm agin' it!" Shortly thereafter, my friend and I got tired of the whole thing and gradually quit posting. Friend drops in just to see who's there several months later, and sees a post from the guy in Zephyrhills, who has announced to the board at large that he has discovered where I live and some day soon, he is going to drive up, ring my doorbell, punch me in my bitchy dyke face and drive away, and I'll never know who it was or why. THEN, he said he was going to call DCF and report me as a child molester, and see if he could get HRH taken away.

Well, cuts both ways. He was using HIS real name and location too. So I printed out the post, printed out his profile, sent a screenshot to Classmates management, had a colleague write him a "cease and desist" letter pointing out that making a false report to DCF is a serious felony, and I took a copy of the post to my local village police. The cop said they couldn't charge him with anything unless he actually took steps toward carrying out the threats (I knew that; I just wanted to get on record before he did), but their captain happened to know someone on the Zephyrhills force, and he would reach out to them to do a little citizen education with the guy.

Upshot is, lurking on the board later, my friend told me Classmates had booted the guy, which infuriated his friends, so they all posted about it and what a bitch I was. And to add insult to injury, I had "sicced my lawyer" on him and sent the cops out to lean on him...and him an upstanding member of the community, who supported the sheriff's boys' ranch and had friends who were cops! Needless to say, Mr. Big Talk did not do any of the things he threatened, and whined like punk about getting called on his shit, big-time. But if I hadn't taken steps to head him off, who knows what physical or other harm he might have done anonymously?

Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)
