  • Baghdad Debbie at it again.

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was in fine Baghdad Bob style on Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” telling host David Gregory a series of whoppers with poker-face aplomb.

Besides claiming there was no political motive behind the Obama administration’s Good Friday announcement that there will be yet more delay on the Keystone XL pipeline decision, Wasserman Schultz declared Democrat candidates are in fine shape heading into the fall elections and that the elections won’t be a referendum on President Obama anyway.

Faced with a scathing statement from Democrat Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, calling the Keystone delay “irresponsible, unnecessary and unacceptable,” Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat, responded basically that Landrieu should stick to worrying about her own state and let the adults in the White House handle the “complex” issues.

The important thing, Wasserman Schultz said, is that President Obama doesn’t “factor politics into his decision, which I don’t believe he is.”
    Not photoshopped:

It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest Karl Rove was saying similar things in 2006. Or at least downplayed the fierce headwinds the Republicans faced that year.

It is sort of what political people do, isn't it?

Professor Henry Jones : It tells me, that goose-stepping morons like yourself should try *reading* books instead of *burning* them!

Yes. I remember listening to this interview. Classic.

Not a deflection just noticing it is a thing. Spinners gonna spin.

        And Baghdad Bob was awesome.

It's not so much the denying any possible losses thing, despite its absurdity. I agree that someone in that position is always going to put a positive face on it because otherwise it's likely to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The far more laughable claim is that the Keystone thing is absolutely not political in any way, and Obama makes no decisions based upon politics, right after he has pulled this stunt to postpone Keystone until after the election. That's just absurd. Any idiot knows that's ludicrously false. That DWS would actually try to claim otherwise is just insane.

Then you are back to spinners gonna spin.

You think Republicans confirm their corruption and political calculations? I have yet to see McConnell go Bullworth.

And Keystone is going to get done just like kids are going to get shot up in schools. The left (real, not imagined) is dead as a serious political force in this nation.
