  • Leftist middle aged "man" kills young Republican adult. CNN/MSNBC quiet.

At least ABC news reported it. I am mostly hearing this from right wing sources and local sources. I first heard about this from Lauren Boebert. That shouldn't be a thing.

    https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/...death-90287819

The court document said Brandt told investigators he had been drinking alcohol before striking Ellingson and thought the teen was calling people to do him harm after they argued and that he felt threatened. Ellingson was rushed to a hospital in Carrington, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators arrested Brandt at his home in Glenfield later Sunday. Officials said he consented to a chemical breath test which showed his blood alcohol content was above 0.08%, the legal limit to drive.

Capt. Bryan Niewind of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, which helped investigate the death, said the political argument claim by Brandt has not been substantiated because the investigation is still ongoing and more witnesses need to be interviewed. The specific details of the alleged argument were not released.

I am not swallowing that whole self-defense garbage. That sounds too close to the people claiming self-defense when they hit liberal protesters.

Yeah, sorry, you don't get to claim self defense outside of your home/domicile if you've been drinking. At least not around here. If I'm drinking at home and someone breaks in, then I'm in the clear but if I'm loaded in a bar and kill someone, then my self-defense case won't hold water. And since he actually apparently had a means of escape (his car), then he's strike two on self-defense. He admitted to doing it intentionally, so he can't really even go for vehicular homicide.

Depending a bit on the facts of the case, which aren't yet totally clear, this is looking like straight-up either second-degree or first-degree murder (that will depend on North Dakota statutes, as well),

He's cooked. Or at least he should be.
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

Moreover, why is he free on bail????
"Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

At least there was bail. They simply could have let him free.

I do think there's a direct line to be drawn between the fearmongering this administration and the Democrats are indulging and the inevitable violence it creates, including this murder.
