NBC, MSNBC sink to bottom of who the public trusts
BY PAUL BEDARD | JANUARY 30, 2014 AT 4:20 PM

In a presidential match, Fox's Bill O'Reilly, left, would beat Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert....
NBC News and sister cable network MSNBC rank at the bottom of media outlets Americans trust most for news, with Fox News leading the way, according to a new poll from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.

In its fifth trust poll, 35 percent said they trusted Fox news more than any other outlet, followed by PBS at 14 percent, ABC at 11 percent, CNN at 10 percent, CBS at 9 percent, 6 percent for MSNBC and Comedy Central, and just 3 percent for NBC.

The pollster said Fox won because Republicans are devoted to it. “It leads the way because of its continuing near total support among Republicans as the place to go for news- 69 percent of Republicans say it's their most trusted source with nothing else polling above 7 percent,” said PPP.

The pollster also tested voter attitudes on Fox star Bill O'Reilly, who is set to conduct the annual Super Bowl interview with President Obama, and Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert. PPP said that in a presidential match, O'Reilly would beat Colbert 38 percent to 35 percent.

What's more, O'Reilly had a better favorability rating than any of the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates.

The poll also asked which news team was “least trusted;” Fox won that, too, because many Democrats don’t like it.

When all the politics are stripped out, PPP said that the one outlet that appears trusted by both sides is PBS. Some 57 percent of Americans said they trust public TV news.

Heh! The Apology Network is going to stay there, too.

The really funny part is that PPP is just another propaganda wing of the Left. It would better be named "Progressive Push-Polling," because that's exactly what they do.

Lawrence O'Donnell - White guilt by the bullshit-truck load. Communism delivered from behind a $100 tie and a $500 suit.

Rachel Maddow - One hour of sarcasm, sometimes poignant, but a little juvenile overall.

Chris Hayes - Looks like he's going to cry if you don't fall to your knees and worship at the altar of Global Warming. Whiny.

Melissa Paris Harry - Yes, I really am black and am qualified to speak for all black people, even though I was born in Seattle.

What is the common denominator? It's all Bush's fault and you are a racist for thinking otherwise.

          You've got them pegged.

Why aren't we hearing much about Charlie Crist being gay?

Now that he's a Democrat, yes.

Funny how that works. Liberals out gay people if they are Republicans and then suddenly lose interest when they are Democrats.

Trust doesn't mean anything. The same people who trust Fox and CNN and MSNBCBSPN also think the Fast & Furious movies are entertainment. That doesn't make them good movies, and it don't make Fox or anyone else accurate. I distrust them all, but I distrust Fox the most. They occasionally lie (MSNBCBSPN lies the most IMHO) but they are world class bullshitters and manipulators. They live eat and breathe spinning and omitting for maximum impact to their viewers. The fact that there's an entire cottage industry of liberal ne'er do wells dedicated to busting Fox's countless bullshit sessions says they're no better than the bullshit that Media Matters or whoever it is points out from places like NBC and ABC and CBS news.

As far as I'm concerned, they're all suspect. But Brian Williams and Lester Holt are still wonderful hosts and I'll watch them until they retire. If I want actual news I go online or watch, heaven forbid, Al Jazerra America. It's like the Weather Nation of news… boring as fuck but you won't get your dick tickled with a feather and call it in-depth analysis.

That's still gaystapo bullshit and 25% of why I can't stand establishment QUILTBAGS.

Ken Mehlman never voted against gay rights and he argued forcefully behind the scenes to change the GOP from within. He certainly moved the needle of tolerance on the right. He did more for gay rights in 4 years than Rachel Maddow has done her entire life.

So why was he outed and targeted?

You know the answer, you just don't care.

                        On edit:

Mehlman was also instrumental in overturning California's Prop. 8, which wouldn't have been necessary if Obama had the balls to support gay marriage in 2008.

                          The world is not Republican.

                          The world is not Democrat.

I look for balanced news and nothing national with NBC in it or CNN gives me that.

I trust Fox News more even though they have a slant.

I didn't mean for this to become a potental poem, but how about that?

After Benghazi, the coverage on the abortion doctor that went on trial, and some other things, there is no denying that the media is liberal. That wouldn't bother me so much as their way of manipulating things to try to go their way. We know the world isn't completely liberal, so why are they presenting it that way?

Besides, it's always fun to pull out a fox news link when debating a conservative.
