As someone who has had some serious health challenges, I have to confess that I have looked at folks in the electric shopping cart and thought, "If you don't get out of that machine, one day you won't be able to." But then I remember that there was the day I used the cart, because my bad leg had simply had enough for one day. I happened to find that the cart is more trouble than it's worth. I will say this about it: If you are going to use it, then be considerate. People who don't have a good grasp of their space bubble to start with, often extend the bubble even wider with the cart.

I love my mother dearly, and no one deserves to use the electric cart more than she does. IN fact, she has her own electric cart. But she drives the cart like she drives a car- accelerate until it's time to decelerate.
