  • Rep. Joe Wilson: ‘‘Hey, America, Can I Have My F***ing Apology Now?!’’

    Dear America,

As some of you may recall, I had an outburst of “pent-up frustration” at President Obama during his first State of the Union address in 2009. While President Obama was touting his pending Affordable Healthcare Act, I shouted “You lie!” It was rather out of character for me and instantly caused uproar across the nation. Some people came to my defense, although most condemned me for interrupting a president’s State of the Union speech, and most of all for denouncing President Obama as a liar.

Commentators on both sides said I was crude, rude, and jumping the gun before giving President Obama a chance to prove himself and enact his policies. I was called a Right-winged nut; an alarmist; a rebel-rouser; and just plain old mean.

Well, my fellow Americans, three years have passed since my yelling “You lie!” to Mr. Obama during his SOTU speech. And with everything that has happened since, especially over the last 14 months, and even more since October 1st, may I just humbly, from the bottom of my usually well-reserved heart, kindly ask you: WHERE THE IS MY MOTHER F***ING APOLOGY?!

No! Nah! NAHHH! Like, yo, seriously America, when am I going to get my apology? My f***ing apology, if I may so rephrase.

I admit: my calling Obama a liar may not have come during an inappropriate time, and may have offended some people by my disrespect of a president in the middle of his ordained task of relaying the state of the nation. But that aside, like, yo, what the hell, America?!!

No. No! Nope…I will not dare pull a “I told you so” rant here. This is not about me, Joe Wilson, South Carolina’s Second District Congressman, who told Obama in front of the whole nation that his promises about the glories of Obamacare were lies. No way, no how is this about me rubbing my and my Republican colleagues’ predictions about Obamacare in the face of Americans who were foolish, ideological, or just plain stupid enough to ever believe that a nationally controlled, Socialist-styled healthcare system in a nation as large, complex and diverse as the United States could ever work for the benefit of the bulk of the population. He, we ain’t Denmark or New Zealand here (oh, which reminds me, for those who have pre-existing medical conditions and want nationalized healthcare so much, try immigrating to New Zealand bearing that information… Yeah, good luck with that, you dumbasses).
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

No, Joe. You can't. The ACA still does not provide coverage to illegal aliens.
    Enjoy.

Early indications show that indeed illegal immigrants are enrolling through Navigators, it's just that they aren't asking for proof of citizenship. This is anecdotal, but the actual Navigator (there's only one in my county) said so. She said she knew for a fact that they were not citizens or legal residents but that there was no requirement for her to ask so she processed the applications.

However, the coverage isn't effective until January 1st so there is technically not anyone covered under the ACA. Not yet.

If he wrote this himself, then my respect has slipped another notch.

And do these illegal aliens get subsidies? Do they apply them to their tax returns?
            Enjoy.

I see from the application form, it requires a Social Security number or (for eligible immigrants) an immigration document ID number. So, if a navigator is filling out the application and they are certain that the applicant is an illegal immigrant, they must be certain that the applicant just gave them a false number.
                Enjoy.

                      Your point?

And apparently some rule somewhere that has absolutely no teeth is a massive wall that no government worker would ever break, even if the rule is not being enforced.

But hey, Joe Wilson was proven wrong and Obama didn't lie. Obama didn't even lie when he did lie - because his lie only affects a few million people right now.

The ACA does not provide health care for illegal aliens, which is the thing Wilson yelled was a lie, so Wilson is still wrong.
                            Enjoy.

So the illegal aliens that are being enrolled by ACA Health Navigators are not going to get healthcare?
