Dear America,
As some of you may recall, I had an outburst of “pent-up frustration†at President Obama during his first State of the Union address in 2009. While President Obama was touting his pending Affordable Healthcare Act, I shouted “You lie!†It was rather out of character for me and instantly caused uproar across the nation. Some people came to my defense, although most condemned me for interrupting a president’s State of the Union speech, and most of all for denouncing President Obama as a liar.
Commentators on both sides said I was crude, rude, and jumping the gun before giving President Obama a chance to prove himself and enact his policies. I was called a Right-winged nut; an alarmist; a rebel-rouser; and just plain old mean.
Well, my fellow Americans, three years have passed since my yelling “You lie!†to Mr. Obama during his SOTU speech. And with everything that has happened since, especially over the last 14 months, and even more since October 1st, may I just humbly, from the bottom of my usually well-reserved heart, kindly ask you: WHERE THE IS MY MOTHER F***ING APOLOGY?!
No! Nah! NAHHH! Like, yo, seriously America, when am I going to get my apology? My f***ing apology, if I may so rephrase.
I admit: my calling Obama a liar may not have come during an inappropriate time, and may have offended some people by my disrespect of a president in the middle of his ordained task of relaying the state of the nation. But that aside, like, yo, what the hell, America?!!
No. No! Nope…I will not dare pull a “I told you so†rant here. This is not about me, Joe Wilson, South Carolina’s Second District Congressman, who told Obama in front of the whole nation that his promises about the glories of Obamacare were lies. No way, no how is this about me rubbing my and my Republican colleagues’ predictions about Obamacare in the face of Americans who were foolish, ideological, or just plain stupid enough to ever believe that a nationally controlled, Socialist-styled healthcare system in a nation as large, complex and diverse as the United States could ever work for the benefit of the bulk of the population. He, we ain’t Denmark or New Zealand here (oh, which reminds me, for those who have pre-existing medical conditions and want nationalized healthcare so much, try immigrating to New Zealand bearing that information… Yeah, good luck with that, you dumbasses).
