  • Noah - the movie

I've read some interesting commentary from those who have read the screenplay and those who have gone to the test screenings.

It should be interesting to see how well this Hollywood version of Moses is received by Jews, Christians, and Muslims when this hits the American theatres next year.
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

From what I've read about the plot, and that Russell Crowe said about Noah (presumably based on what the script says), I don't expect much.

      Testing.
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

As I said to a friend, Hollywood needs to start treating Christian Movie Goers like comic book movie goers. They know the source material better than you, and WILL NOT HESITATE TO POINT OUT YOUR ERRORS. They know when you're faking it and being patronizing and not giving a damn about the story, and they WILL make you pay the box office. They know when the writer shows love and respect for the source material and reward you accordingly.
